Writing Home - Queer Bridges
What does “home” mean to you?
Have you migrated—voluntarily or involuntarily—and what does it mean to live far from the place where you grew up? Todd will help you discover ways to think, read, and write about home—no matter what this idea means to you. Inspired by writers and thinkers who came before us, he will lead discussions about place, transitions, and belonging.
Words and stories reside within all of us, waiting to be discovered. This Queer Bridges Writing Workshop invites people of all writing levels—especially migrants and refugees—to explore their creativity and imagination.

Berlin-based writer Todd Barrowclough will help you explore writing for wellbeing so you can find warmth, nourish yourself, and take care of others and the world around you.
Bring something to write with and write on.
This workshop will be delivered in English but you can write in whatever language you feel comfortable expressing yourself in.

Writing Home (Online)
Explore the meaning of home, migration, and belonging in an online creative writing workshop with Sāmoan writer Todd Barrowclough.
What does ‘home’ mean to you? Have you migrated – by choice or otherwise – and what does it mean to live away from where you grew up? Have you felt the pull of adventure and opportunity to put down new roots; have you felt the need to grab your things and leave a place? Are you familiar with dislocation, isolation, and the shock of the new? Have you navigated a newfound Otherness, or have you been Othered in new ways?
Stretch Festival 2025: Write for Life, Write for Self
Todd Barrowclough, a Sāmoan writer, will show you ways to think about yourself and reflect on your life through the power of words. Taking inspiration from his creative life and his indigenous culture, Todd will set writing exercises and generate discussions to help you find joy, inspiration, and a greater sense of self through creativity.
